One person is in custody after a shooting left another person injured in Myrtle Beach tonight.
The Myrtle Beach Police Department said the incident happened at around 7:30 p.m. Saturday at 307 14th Ave. South.
Myrtle Beach Police are 45 officers short this Summer season, per Mark Kruea, Public Information Officer at the City of Myrtle Beach.
The South End of Myrtle Beach is a violent area to work, which makes attracting new officers a challenge. It is also a dangerous area to vacation.
The City of Myrtle Beach averages approximately one shooting every weekend during peak season. Violence is common across the city as we reported earlier this week, where security guards were beaten by tourists at Broadway at the Beach.
The person shot tonight was taken to Grand Strand Hospital and the scene is now secure, according to police.
