Coastal Carolina 1st team into 2025 College World Series Finals

Coastal Carolina baseball has secured its spot in the championship series of the 2025 College World Series, being the first team to do so.

Riley Eikhoff, a redshirt senior right-handed pitcher, took the mound at the beginning of the game and delivered a flawless performance.

In the opening inning, Coastal Carolina scored 6 runs and maintained their lead throughout the game. With a final score of 11-3, Louisville was knocked out of the 2025 College World Series.

Coastal Carolina, with a 26-game winning streak, awaits the victor of the No. 3 Arkansas vs. No. 6 LSU semifinal. They will face off in a best-of-three-game series beginning on June 21 to decide the national champion. Coastal Carolina’s 11-3 victory against Louisville took place on June 18 at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska.

In 2016, Coastal Carolina secured the national title under the guidance of new coach Kevin Schnall. They are the sole team capable of preventing the SEC from claiming a sixth successive national championship.

Path to Victory in the College World Series

Coastal Carolina secured their spot in the2025 College World Series championship finals by scoring six runs in the first inning, extending their College World Series record to 3-0. This marks the Chanticleers’ first appearance in the championship series since their 2016 victory and only the second in their program’s history.
