Introducing the Pickleball Facility: The Dink District

Carolina Forest is the largest resident area in Horry County.

The new site at 200 Ronald McNair Boulevard in Carolina Forest will have climate control, as mentioned in the announcement.

The indoor facility enables pickleball facility enthusiasts to play irrespective of outdoor weather conditions.

The developers chose to build the facility in the youngest neighborhood in the county, avoiding the drama that comes with Myrtle Beach zoning and politics.

The Dink District will be equipped with 14 professional-grade courts, a pro shop, locker rooms, and a lounge with a view of the courts.

The facility is set to include a main championship court for organizing tournaments and events, as stated in the release.

“The facility will cater to players of all skill levels by providing a mixture of membership and walk-in options. While focusing on open play, Dink District will also accommodate reserved courts and a variety of classes and leagues,” the release says.

Dr. Ron K. Reynolds and his son Kerry Reynolds, who has experience in pickleball, have partnered to establish this establishment. Dr. Reynolds has been an active member of both the Myrtle Beach business and healthcare sectors since 1986.

According to the release, Kerry, a local pickleball player, has participated in various tournaments and is certified as a level 2 instructor by the International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association.

The company views this facility as a location that can be enjoyed by players of all skill levels throughout the year, no matter the weather, in the nation’s rapidly expanding sport.

The Dink District aims to solidify Horry County as a top sports destination, according to the company.

Ron Reynolds mentioned that pickleball is experiencing rapid growth, and the complex is dedicated to catering to the expanding pickleball community.

Pickleball, a paddle sport that blends badminton, tennis, and table tennis elements, is played on a court similar to badminton but with a lower net than tennis. Using solid paddles, players hit a plastic ball with holes over the net. This sport is recognized for its simplicity, inclusivity across different ages and skill levels, and is presently one of the rapidly expanding sports in the US.
