The American Heart Association Beach Ride has been a huge success for the Grand Strand. The American Heart Association Beach Ride officially ends Sunday morning this week.

About the American Heart Association Beach Ride

The inaugural Beach Ride took place 44 years ago! It’s incredible to witness what this community has accomplished over the past four decades. Known as the “Heart Ride” or “Ride-A-Thon,” it began with 20 riders, spearheaded by Myrtle Beach local Jack Monroe and his wife Margo.

The Beach Ride has evolved into a nationally acclaimed event within the equestrian community, attracting riders and horses from across the nation. Participants join forces to promote awareness about heart disease and stroke while spending time camping and riding along the shores of Myrtle Beach, SC.
