Attorney Richard Lovelace has been a key figure in Conway, S.C. liberal circles for well over 50 years. He is married to a retired Judge. He is key friends with liberal, former S.C. Supreme Court Justice Kaye Hearn and her husband George.
He is in tight circles with liberal S.C. Horry County Senator Luke Rankin and former Santee Board Chairman David Singleton’s family.
He is an establishment in Conway’s blueblood, liberal aristocracy.
Residents continue to ask what caused this liberal to melt down at a recent peaceful pro-life protest at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church.
While Richard Lovelace is being charged with serious crimes, Conway locals believe they will be dismissed by Solicitor Jimmy Richardson, because of Lovelace’s ties to all things political Horry County.

RICHARD LOVELACE, CONGREGANT BRANDISHES GRENADE AT EPISCOPAL CHURCH PROTEST
Peaceful Pro-Life Protestors Encounter Hostile Church Members in South Carolina
At around 8:30 am on Sunday, November 2, 2025, pro-life demonstrators from Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust arrived at Saint Anne’s Episcopal Church located in Conway, South Carolina. The team was acting on information that members of the church had connections to the Palmetto State Abortion Fund via The Women and Gender Studies Program at Coastal Carolina University. The abortion fund has a documented history of facilitating free chemical abortions for minors.
The protestors held up handmade signs with messages such as “Love Your Unborn Neighbor” and “Radical Love Doesn’t Kill Babies” as they raised megaphones warning attendees that the church they attended preached a false gospel and proclaimed to those inside, “We’re calling you higher. We’re calling you to repentance.”
There were several heated interactions between congregants and protestors. Jessica Newell, a Coastal Carolina alumni who led the effort observed:
“Every single congregant confirmed that they are pro-choice in their interactions with us as they walked into church. Their bad theology has real-life consequences and we are here to call them out on their church’s associations with the pro-abortion Women and Gender Studies Program at CCU.”
At about 10:00am Richard Lovelace, a South Carolina lawyer and Saint Anne’s congregant, walked out towards the protestors. He pulled out what appeared to be a hand grenade, saying, “I have a grenade for ya’ll. A gift for you protesters.” Police were immediately called following this threat. Three officers in separate squad cars arrived on the scene and after speaking with both church members and protesters, arrested Richard Lovelace.
