Conway, SC Aug 21, 2024 – On September 3rd-6th, dozens of anti-abortion students and community members will be risking arrest by engaging in a non-violent, civilly disobedient ‘sit in’ campaign over a Black-Market chemical abortion issue.
Activists from all over the country will be gathering at CCU to demand that the school denounces their affiliation with Palmetto State Abortion Funds. After CCU clinic’s supposed effort to aid their alleged 2016 prostitution ring by administering the chemical abortion pill to students, they have been fairly silent in the abortion discussion. Or so we thought.
Little did we know, the director of CCU’s Women and Gender Studies department has been an accomplice to the illegal trafficking of abortion pills from Mexico, for quite some time. She is not only staff at Coastal, but the Director of College Outreach at Palmetto State Abortion Funds as well. In less than 5 weeks, Coastal senior Jessica Newell, ran an independent undercover investigation to expose CCU’s ties to the abortion and chemical abortion industry. She plans to release all of her evidence to the public at the upcoming ‘sit in’ protest. Pictures of the pills and their packaging will also be revealed.
Black-Market Chemical Abortion
Only 4 weeks ago CCU’s pro-life group, ILLUMINATE, reached out to multiple campus offices to make a humble request… if Planned Parenthood is able to have a special feature on CCU’s website, parenting resources should be represented as well. Immediately after the request, Coastal’s Women & Gender Studies replied:
“As a unit rooted in feminist gender justice, WGS will not be sharing any of your suggested web links on our website.”
As of just a few days ago, Gov. Henry McMaster spoke to President Benson on the club’s behalf, and was successful in removing WGS’s “helpful resources” page on chemical bbortion. Although this is a big step and a massive win for ILLUMINATE, Coastal still has thriving ties to the “plan-C” blackmarket.
“I’ve never been through an easier process,” Newell said. “I claimed that I was 15 weeks pregnant, and they told me that they serve women up to 18 weeks. That is 12 weeks post-legality in our state and 8 weeks post FDA approval. There was no RH blood test, no required ultrasound to diagnose a potential ectopic pregnancy, and no doctor involved whatsoever.” According to Newell, the pills arrived to the location loose in 3 cotton pads and were concealed in see-through, zip lock baggies. There were no physical instructions, and no legitimate packaging. She feared that the pills could have been laced with fentanyl.
According to anti-abortion students at CCU, girls at Coastal Carolina University are suffering. They argue that abortion industry is facetious in their belief that women will die because of a lack of abortion access, and that the way they administer the pill is proof. That is why ILLUMINATE believes that it is imperative that they follow through with their September ‘sit in’.
You can look forward to countless speeches, from world renowned activist organizations, outside of CCU’s WGS department office from September 3rd-6th! The ‘sit in’ activities will take place on that Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8am-5pm.
This anti chemical abortion “sit in” is organized by ILLUMINATE. ILLUMINATE is a student led, feminist organization that exists for the advancement of women & families.
