The 8 – 1 Coastal Carolina Chanticleers are positioned to finish the 2022 Football season well after a clutch win over arch rival Appalachian State last night.

Coastal secured a 35 to 28 win over a tough Mountaineer squad.

Upcoming clashes against Southern Mississippi, Virginia, and James Madison may appear anti-climatic, however the Chants must continue to perform at peak if they intend on playing in a high profile bowl game come January.

The one glaring blemish on the Chants’ record this season was a surprising beat down by Old Dominion University. The Monarchs upset Coastal on its home field 49 to 21 on October 15th.

A Sun Belt champion typically must go undefeated to garner national attention. The ODU loss could possibly keep Coastal Carolina out of a high stakes bowl.

Regardless, if Coastal Carolina University finishes these final three games strong, the team has a chance of making a splash in a key bowl come January.
