It was a “here we go again” moment at Horry County’s Public Safety Meeting this morning.
Councilman Gary Loftus worked to place another gun control ordinance on the books as law in Horry County.
He squared up against a firm Horry County Councilman Al Allen, along with, gun owners, sportsman, outdoorsman, and county residents, however.
Yesterday, the Freedom Action Network alerted local residents to this morning’s attempt along with a call to action.
Hundreds of calls, emails, and text messages poured into the inboxes of Horry County Councilmen.
Loftus asked for the measure to be approved this morning, but the Public Safety Committee could not recommend it.
We spoke with Horry County Council Chairman Johnny Gardner who told us Loftus has requested the ordinance be placed on the agenda tonight.
It will be placed on the agenda as not recommended by the Public Safety Committee.
It appears the ordinance is dead on arrival this afternoon.
