On Saturday, October 31st, with all government offices closed, Myrtle Beach Mayor Brenda Bethune signed an emergency order requiring all locals and tourists to wear face mask coverings until November 30, 2020.

October 2020 has been the deadliest October in the history of downtown Myrtle Beach for shooting deaths.

There have been no Covid 19 deaths in the downtown zip code of 29577 during the month of October.

Extending the Emergency Order allows the city to continue to collect federal emergency tax dollars.
