All involved say that the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber has no intentions of actually going into court.  Their intentions are, through ongoing filings and depositions, to drive up the cost of the residents’ legal fees, financially ruining the group.  This makes the case a marathon event.  MBACC can actually fight the case with free tax dollars the organization converts into private funding in the millions.

Residents have to fight their case with their own hard earned money.   Such is the landscape of 2018 Myrtle Beach.

We asked MBACC Board Chairman, Carla Schuessler who were Bill Rosenthal’s partners in Visibility and Conversions”, a company that received over $60 million in tourist tax monies.  She did not respond to our request.  However, one local told us they believed Rosenthal was a minority owner in the firm.  That source told us that the majority owners of Visibility and Conversions were a local media agency and a local hotel group.

A group of more than eight long-standing Myrtle Beach locals met this past week to discuss setting up a Taxpayers Defense Fund “Go Fund Me” page.  This  in response to the latest video the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce placed concerning complaints that MBACC conspired to set up crony companies with former employees.  Those companies, made up of former Myrtle Beach Area Chamber employees,  were then paid millions in TDF (tourist tax) funding.  The $250 million tax was passed by Myrtle Beach City Council above the protests of local residents.  Voters have never had a say in the tax.

Said one multi-generational, Myrtle Beach local, “We are choosing to reclaim our town!  Myrtle Beach wasn’t always this way. We are taking this town away from these MBACC bullies who high-jacked it for their own private use of public tax dollars.”  After seeing the latest video created by MBACC, this resident asked not to be identified publicly.

Residents live in fear of this Chamber, she said.  However, this is not Karon Mitchell’s fight as the Chamber claims.  The entire town is rallying not only around Karon’s courage, but also her inner joy. The only vote any of us will ever get to cast concerning this hideous tax is to financially support this lawsuit.”

The latest MBACC attack video can be seen here:

The Chamber then hired McNair Law Firm’s Henrietta Golding, who is asking that the word “crony” be removed from the suit.  Golding believes the word crony puts the Chamber in a bad light.

A group of Myrtle Beach residents, growing in numbers daily,  are suing the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber for creating these crony LLC companies with former employees who then received millions in TDF funding.  Among those companies are: Visibility & Conversions, LLC, Right Analytics, LLC, Com-Connect, LLC, and Battle Strategies, LLC.

Visibility and Conversions is one company who was paid over $60 million in tourist tax monies.  It’s managing member is Bill Rosenthal.

Bill Rosenthal Owns Visibility and Conversions, paid $60 Million In TDF

We asked MBACC Board Chairman Carla Schuessler who Bill Rosenthal’s partners in Visibility and Conversions were?  She did not respond to our request.  However, one local told us they believed Rosenthal was a minority owner in the firm.  That source told us a local media agency and a local hotel group were the majority owners of Visibility and Conversions. MyrtleBeachSC.com has not been able to confirm this information.

Comments from residents just below the Chamber’s paid post of this video were not pro-MBACC in any way.

Negative MBACC Comments
These were just a few of the many negative comments the sponsored video received on Social. After these complaints continued to come in, the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber removed the ability of locals to comment on under the video.

Myrtle Beach residents are asking all who love freedom and despise tyranny to help by giving to this Legal Defense “GO FUND ME” page.  Should Myrtle Beach city residents win the lawsuit, all funds will be returned to those who donated.  Mrs. Mitchell is asking that the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber be required to follow the laws on the books as it relates to getting taxpayer monies.
