City-Wide Cleanup planned for North Myrtle Beach on Nov. 2nd

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The City of North Myrtle Beach City-wide Cleanup Day will be held on Saturday, November 2nd, from 9 AM to 12 PM at the North Myrtle Beach Sanitation Transfer Station.

The annual home cleanup day provides North Myrtle Beach residents with an opportunity to clean out their closets, attics, garages, and storage sheds. During the event, residents may discard their unwanted items.

The City will be accepting the following items on City-wide Cleanup Day:

  • Appliances
  • Chemicals
  • Electronics
  • Furniture
  • Oil
  • Old Tires
  • Paint
  • Pesticides
  • TVs
  • Documents for Shredding (Courtesy of Shred-it)

The City will NOT be accepting the following items City-wide Cleanup Day:

Drop Site Location

Residents must transport their items to the North Myrtle Beach Sanitation Transfer Station located on 2nd Avenue South. Once on 2nd Avenue South, drive toward the Intracoastal Waterway past City Hall and the Aquatic & Fitness Center. The City-wide Cleanup Day Drop Site is on the right-hand side of 2nd Avenue South.

Special Collections

The City provides a special collection service for furniture, appliances, and other bulky items. These items should be placed at curbside for pickup. This service is not regularly scheduled, but is provided on an as-needed basis. Please call the Public Works Department at 843-280-5500 prior to placing such items at the curbside to ensure prompt pickup.

Furniture and appliances that are still usable may be donated to the Salvation Army, Goodwill Industries, or local churches. Many of these organizations will pickup items to be donated.

The City-wide Cleanup is sponsored by Keep North Myrtle Beach Beautiful, the North Myrtle Beach Sanitation Department, and the City of North Myrtle Beach. Keep North Myrtle Beach Beautiful is an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful.
