The Troy Trogans destroyed Coastal Carolina University in today’s Sunbelt Championship game. CCU appeared out of sorts from the kickoff, despite the return of star Quarterback Grayson McCall.
The trogans won the game 45-26 and are now expected to play in a major post season bowl game.
This comes amid news from ESPN that Liberty University offered Coastal Carolina Coach Jamey Chadwell a multi million dollar annual deal. Liberty had just agreed to pay Hugh Freeze an average of $5 million per year in a new deal signed prior to his departure for Auburn University. Freeze declined the offer and took the Auburn Head Coaching job.
Sources at ESPN state Chadwell is highly interested in the offer, but plans to announce his acceptance of the deal after today’s game.
The Chanticleers finished the year getting blown out last week by James Madison, followed by another poor showing today.
Chadwell is expected to make an announcement within the next 24 hours.
