Councilman Worley “I-73 tolls coming” on top of $14.5 million in annual fees

Horry County Councilman Harold Worley told those in attendance last night, “We were talking about the Feds bringing money into I-73, the State bringing money into I-73, but let me tell you Mr. Chairman what I heard today… and this came from the State House… this came from the State House. A toll, a toll, they are talking about putting a toll on a road that we people here in Horry County are going to pay for with [local] tax payer’s money.

County Councilman Danny Hardee said of the secret Myrtle Beach settlement, “I think it’s total B.S. and anyone in Myrtle Beach who started this and voted for it, I would highly recommend you pack up and get out of Horry County.

Despite such outspoken comments by Worley and Hardee the measure passed 7 to 5 with City of Myrtle Beach apologists Horry County Councilmen Cam Crawford, Gary Loftus, Dennis DiSabato, Bill Howard, Orton Bellamy, Johnny Vaught, and Tyler Servant voting for the amendment.
