Construction began this week on a new amusement park being built in the heart of downtown Myrtle Beach.

The “Funplex” Amusement Park will be located at Ocean Boulevard and 15th Avenue North.

The park will feature seven family thrill rides, a walk-up bar, and a restaurant.

Two Funplex amusement parks already exist in Mt. Laurel and East Hanover New Jersey.

The amusement park is expected to be running by next spring.

Chapin Park, The Myrtle Beach Skywheel, and Rip Tydz Bar and Grill already exist within blocks of this new downtown location.
