By 9:20 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, Tropical Storm Elsa had worked its way across the Grand Strand and was heading to Wilmington, N.C.

The weather event dropped several inches of rain along the coast and featured over 1,000 power outages across the Pee Dee area.

Gusts of wind never exceeded 25 miles per hour.

Elsa is unlikely to impact this weekend’s tourism numbers in any significant way.

Tourists we spoke with on Wednesday all indicated they planned to stay today through the weekend.
