An arrest was made in North Myrtle Beach this week after a man allegedly kidnapped a woman after offering her a ride.

Darrell Faehr, 28, was arrested on July 16 and charged with kidnapping and assault in the second degree.

The victim, who said she didn’t know Faher, initially thought he was letting her cross Kings Highway, but then noticed he was talking to her.

As a result, Faehr offered the victim a ride, but she initially declined. Despite this, the victim stated that Faehr “was persistent” and she eventually climbed into the vehicle of her own accord. According to the report, Faehr agreed to drive her to her office to pick up her paycheck.

Upon the victim’s departure, Faehr again offered her a ride. The victim initially refused, but after an exchange, the victim reportedly “stated that he convinced her to accept the ride.”

The victim told police Faehr began taking “backstreets” in North Myrtle Beach and wasn’t taking her home, asking him multiple times to stop.

After that, the victim said “while they were driving, he unbuttoned his pants and grabbed her hand and forced it down the front of his pants.”

When Faehr pulled into the Malibu Pointe Condos, the victim got out of the car and ran. She found an unlocked door, went inside, and locked it.

A child of the renters discovered her and called an adult, prompting the police to respond.

Neither Faehr nor his car were found at the scene at the time.

On July 16, Faehr was arrested after being pulled over.

Despite being booked at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center, he was released Wednesday on a $15,000 bond.
