A house is such a big investment for most people so a flooded house can be a worst nightmare, with the amount of damage water can cause it can be so hard to recover from financially. According to the Federal Emergency Management Agency the average flood damage claim is around $52,000, if you are unfortunate enough to have a flood from a damaged pipe or an appliance then the average cost to recover from the flood is $3,000 to $17,000. Depending on what has caused the damages as you can see this varies what the costing id going to be to recover from it, unfortunately the costing around recovering from a flood is highly dependent on what situation you are in and how much has been damaged. 

Because of the costs for fixing damages and recovering from flooding it is important to have some sort of insurance in place to help afford the repairs. When taking out any insurance for your home make sure you check what contents are covered and how much you are covered for, the last thing you want is to be putting in a claim and finding out they won’t cover it.
