Federal responders in Rutherford County and Governor Roy Cooper were notified of a potential standdown following an email sent by the U.S. Forest Service. The email informed them that National Guard troops had allegedly come across armed militia members who claimed to be hunting FEMA.

Due to an excess of caution, FEMA has decided to have its disaster assistance teams positioned at designated sites instead of conducting door-to-door visits, which has been the agency’s standard procedure in previous instances.

CBS News confirmed the arrest of an individual in relation to the threat on Monday.

FEMA continues to support communities impacted by Helene and help survivors apply for assistance. For the safety of our dedicated staff and the disaster survivors we are helping, FEMA has made some operational adjustments. Disaster Recovery Centers will continue to be open as scheduled, survivors continue to register for assistance, and we continue to help the people of North Carolina with their recovery,” FEMA said in a statement to CBS News.

The truth is much more expansive than information FEMA and the staff of Roy Cooper are providing, however.

FEMA’s information is limited compared to the broader extent of the truth.

Governor Roy Cooper declined to issue a compulsory evacuation order to Western N.C. residents, even though the state had experienced excessive flooding for a week prior to the arrival of Helene.

If he were a Republican, the media would be criticizing him and Harris heavily. MyrtleBeachSC News has reached out to Governor Cooper multiple times asking why no evacuation orders were given.

Governor Roy Cooper and his staff have yet to respond.

Helene arrived on September 26th as a formidable Category 4 hurricane close to Perry, Florida. Its path spanned across six states, resulting in what is now reported as 225 fatalities, predominantly in Western North Carolina.

In Western NC, the issue lies in the reporting, as it indicates that a total of 1156 individuals are currently unaccounted for. They have been missing now for 3 weeks.

After November 5th (when the election is over for Roy Cooper and Kamala Harris), the death toll will leak out to be as many as 1,500 minimum. An evacuation order would have saved most of those lives.

LIES TOLD BY FEMA

CBS News was informed by the North Carolina National Guard that there have been no instances of their soldiers or airmen encountering armed militias, threats, or combatants. The National Guard remains committed to providing assistance to all counties in need.

The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office was notified by a call received on Saturday afternoon stating that an individual residing in the mountains, armed with an assault rifle, had made a concerning statement about potentially causing harm to FEMA employees engaged in recovery operations in the Lake Lure and Chimney Rock region.

The Sheriff’s Office promptly informed the Lake Lure Police Department and relevant authorities about the reported threat.

JUST ONE MOUNTAIN MAN

William Parsons, aged 44 and hailing from Bostic, North Carolina, was identified as the individual believed to be responsible for the threat. Following his identification, Parsons was apprehended and faced charges for being armed in a manner that instilled terror among the public.

Parsons, who was found to be in possession of both a handgun and a rifle, was apprehended by the sheriff’s office. He was subsequently granted release upon payment of a $10,000 bond.

“The initial report stated there was a truck load of militia that was involved,” the sheriff’s office said. “However, after further investigation, it was determined Parsons acted alone and there were no truck loads of militia going to Lake Lure.”

On Monday, Capt. Jamie Keever from the sheriff’s office informed CBS News that while local law enforcement is staying vigilant, there have been no specific and credible threats reported to their office.

These conspiracy theories prompted FEMA to establish a webpage on its site to debunk rumors and misinformation concerning its actions in response to Hurricane Helene.

Roy Cooper and Lake Lure bureaucrats have made those same claims.

On Sunday, during an interview with Margaret Brennan on Face the Nation, Homeland Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas mentioned that there are individuals who are eligible for assistance but are not actively seeking it due to misinformation.

Mayorkas repeats those identical allegations, portraying the Federal Government as a target of American citizens.
