The Myrtle Beach Police Department plans to charge Evony McCray as an adult for the shooting incident that resulted in the death of Meyers.

McCray is a local 17 year old Conway resident. McCray was employed at Peaches Corner as a waiter.

It is unclear if Mcray and Meyers knew one another.

Witnesses have stated that Meyers flashed a gun before he was shot. Myrtle Beach Police say they are investigating this and can neither confirm nor deny whether Meyers brandished a gun or not.
