How Does Horry County Move Beyond Victim Leaders?

Horry County buzzed today about County Council Chairman Mark Lazarus’ decision to walk out of a community forum last night in the Burgess Community.

First Responders came prepared to ask hard questions about what they consider the poor treatment of county employees during the chairman’s term.  Rather than continue to field those questions,  Chairman Lazarus simply walked out.

Employees we spoke with today asked MyrtleBeachSC news: How does the most powerful elected politician in our county pass himself off as a victim so readily?

The Chairman’s financial filings came back today including his list of donors, which featured developers, realtors, and tourism lobby insiders.  County residents asked if Mr. Lazarus would ever have the nerve to walk out on this group listed below:
