Upgrading the exterior of your home will mean that anyone visiting will think wow, even before they enter. This can be particularly useful if you are planning on selling your home. Maximizing curb appeal is like consuming delicious looking food with our eyes. No matter what it is like now, you have the ability to make your house stand out from the crowd by livening up a drab and unappealing exterior. There are a lot of methods to do this, all for various budgets, but all make a huge impact and can make you feel a lot more inspired than you were before.

New Front Door

A new front door can work wonders. It can really bring the home into the modern era. It also makes the home a lot safer too. There are a lot of colours and designs you can go for, but if your hallway is pretty dark, it may be worth installing a front door with some decorative windows so you can enhance the inside as well as the outside.

Lighting

You can use light to enhance the architecture of your home, you can use ground lighting to rebound off of bushes or trees, and porch lighting can give off a much more welcoming air. A light near your house number may be a good shout too. Lighting, if used correctly, can add ambience and mood, adding character and feeling to your home. So think soft, warm tones, if that is the mood you are going for.

Flower Garden

If you are lucky enough to have a front garden, why not spruce it up and add some flowers at the front of your home. This can make it appear so much more friendly, inviting, and beautiful we have all passed houses with stunning front gardens and thought to ourselves how nice that looks. So why not do that yourself. If space is an issue for you, why not try hanging baskets which can give the same effect.

Roofing and Walling

Upgrading the roof with colorbond roofing or adding some decorative cladding can really enhance the look of your home. You can literally go from a relatively simple or unattractive home to something stunning and ultra-modern. If enhancing that curb appeal matter to you, this could be the most impactful way of achieving it.

Use Paint

Yes, paint is that miracle cure for any drab and unappealing home. It can literally transform the appeal of something, and what’s, even more is that it is a relatively inexpensive way of achieving it, especially if you are prepared to do it yourself. You can paint the exterior walls or just paint the cement parging that is close to the bottom of the house if you have it. You can paint the sills, where the windows are located. There is also the porch and door frames to consider. If you are a little of the creative bent, you may even want to experiment with decals or stencils to add a little extra life to the front of the house.
