Victor Ramos Fernandes got arrested on Monday after shooting several rounds at an unoccupied vehicle and then running away.
Controversy Surrounding Victor Ramos Fernandes
Victor Ramos Fernandes, residing unlawfully in Myrtle Beach, faces charges for harming animals and personal property worth $2,000 to $10,000. Additionally, he was charged for discharging a firearm within the city limits and possessing, buying, selling, or transporting firearms as an unauthorized alien.
Fernandes reportedly discharged multiple rounds into a car, causing over $4,500 in damages to its doors, windows, and seats.
He was seen departing the site of the occurrence driving a gray Dodge Ram pickup truck.
An ICE detainer subsequently verified that Fernandes was an undocumented immigrant.
The City of Myrtle Beach is one of the few cities in the state with a downtown immigrant center. The immigrant center is located at 508 8th Avenue North in the Arts and Innovation District.
It was founded in the time of the Biden Administration’s open border policy phase and functions with Mayor Brenda Bethune of Myrtle Beach being fully informed.
Myrtle Beach police currently have Victor Ramos Fernandes in custody.
As a result of the Myrtle Beach Immigrant Center and Biden’s Open Border policy, according to Horry County schools in 2023:
1. The number of non-English speaking students attending Horry County Schools. We have 4417 students who have not yet met the state’s criteria for exiting the ESOL program. These students receive direct ESOL services.
2. The number of students speaking English as a second language. As of today, we have 8242. Horry County Schools has students who speak multiple languages. Our program is called English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) because often, English is not a student’s second language. This total (8242) includes students who are directly served, monitored, and those who have screened out of the program due to being proficient in English.
25% of Horry County school students either spoke English as a second language in 2023 or could not speak English at all.
