Our family moved here in 1767. We were the first among many to make the migration south from an area now known as Tidelands, Virginia.
Growing up in the 1970’s, the river was our personal playground from June to August. The land produced most of what we needed. Working the tobacco fields was just something every kid did.
Horry was our county, our community, and our home.
While none of us can re-live yesterday…,
