During Two-Hour Special, Keith Morrison Confronts Convicted Killer in Exclusive Interview
‘The Last Walk’ Airs Friday, December 9 at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT
December 8, 2022 – On this Friday’s all-new Dateline NBC, investigators speak to correspondent Keith Morrison for the first time about the murder of 17-year-old Brittanee Drexel, whose 2009 disappearance made national headlines after she vanished during Spring Break in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Airing at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT, The Last Walk also features Morrison confronting Raymond Moody, who pleaded guilty to Drexel’s murder in October.
During The Last Walk, Georgetown County Sheriff Investigator Phil Hanna, Myrtle Beach Police Investigator Mike Hull and Captain Kin McKenzie of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division reveal an exclusive inside look at how they zeroed in on Moody.
Hanna tells Morrison that when they asked Moody to come talk to them about the case, “He said, ‘I don’t have nothing to say to y’all. He said, ‘you’re good detectives, you figure it out.’” Hull also discussed how the evidence kept leading to dead ends, explaining: “We used to say all the time, ‘the devil himself is helping him,’ because every time we would start to run something down, it’d be like, ‘yeah it looks good, but it isn’t enough.”

Friday’s special will also include interviews with Drexel’s father Chad Drexel, Detective Traci Chanaca, Horry County Solicitor Jimmy Richardson and FBI Assistant Special Agent In Charge Reid Davis. Dateline has reported on this case for more than a decade.
