Is I-73 Gala A Re-Elect Rhodes MBACC Political Stunt?

AFTER 12 YEARS IN OFFICE, MAYOR RHODES ADMITS CRIME PROBLEMS, TOUTS NATIONAL CONNECTIONS (does not mention Chinese connections), SAYS “WE’VE GOT A LONG WAYS TO GO”

We asked Brad Dean,  C.E.O. of the MBACC,  “Would it have been wiser to hold off on the celebration until after the election so as not to have MBACC inserted into the political process?”   Mr. Dean did not respond.

The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (MBACC) put out a press release to all media yesterday concerning an I-73 celebration to be held at the Hilton this Friday night.

Insider dignitaries, including Congressman Tom Rice, former Highway Commissioner Mike Wooten, and Mayor John Rhodes are expected to be a part of the celebration.

The timing of the event, just before the November 21st run off elections is curious.  We asked Brad Dean,  C.E.O. of the MBACC,  “Would it have been wiser to hold off on the celebration until after the election so as not to have MBACC inserted into the political process?”   Mr. Dean did not respond.

The document was leaked online last night.  Below are a few comments locals wrote concerning the timing of the event.
