Is It Easy To Make Your Home’s Interior More Natural?

David Hucks

Your home’s interior should be the most comforting place in the world. It shouldn’t be something you find boring or stale, or stuffy and muggy. It should be somewhere you enjoy spending your time and always feel like you’re able to relax.

Bringing Outdoors into your Home’s Interior

And if that means bringing a taste of the outdoor indoors, so be it! If you’re an outdoorsy person, this is the best way to live; when you add some natural touches to your home’s interior, it can make it feel like a healthier, more wholesome place.

And thankfully, it can be quite easy to create this feeling. In fact, we’ve got three interior décor tips for making your home more of a natural paradise. Check them out below.

String Plants at Different Heights

Let’s get a look of the jungle for your space! Stringing plants up at different heights makes for a lovely leveled look in the home. It also means you’re not having to find more space on the same surface for another pot plant you’ve brought back!

There are many different types of plants and greenery that are low maintenance and will flourish in your home year round. Some of the most popular plants for your home’s interior are the Snake Plant (Dracaena trifasciata), Fiddleleaf Fig (Ficus lyrata), the Spider Plant (Chlorophytum comosum), the Spider Plant (Chlorophytum comosum), the ZZ Plant (Zamioculcas zamiifolia), Pothos (Epipremnum aureum), Tree Philodendron (Philodendron selloum), Jade Plant (Crassula ovata), Rubber Plant (Ficus elastica), Prayer Plant, Zebra Plant (Calathea sp.), Air Plant (Tillandsia sp.),  Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum sp.), String-of-Pearls (Senecio rowleyanus), African Violet (Saintpaulia ionantha), and Chinese Evergreen (Aglaonema modestum).

Create flow in your home’s interior by hanging baskets and the like, buy shelving units that are asymmetrical, and put big potted plants that are capable of growing all the way to the ceiling in the corners. All of these put together will give your space more of a dynamic look, which also ensures you don’t feel crowded out by all those leaves!

Lay Wooden Flooring

Wood is one of the most natural materials in the world. It’s also one of the most durable when used in construction, which makes it a win win for your natural décor quest! So rip up the carpets, get rid of the lino, then purchase some wooden flooring and hire someone to put it down for you.

Wood is also very easy to keep in good condition. If you spill anything on it you just need to wipe it up, and there’s no danger of the liquid seeping into the base below. Just be sure to throw a mop over it once a month and it’ll stay shining for years to come!

Pick Your Colors According to the Earth

Earth tones are numerous; you don’t just have to buy wallpaper and paint in brown here! You can use reds, greens, yellows, a bit of brown and beige, as well as blues and shades of black and white.

Use a color wheel in the desired palette (usually muted and/or autumnal) and make sure any of the tones you’re pairing together really will work. Clashing colors are OK in small amounts, but you don’t want to transition from the living room to the kitchen and feel the glare follow you!

Your home’s interior can become more natural in the space of a week! All you need to do is level out your greenery, make sure the walls reflect the right natural color, and get some wooden flooring down. That’s one renovation project that’ll make a real difference to how much you enjoy your space!
