The Honorable Bradley D. Mayers ruled today that former HCGOP Chairman and other former HCGOP leaders have 21 days to return all properties to the newly elected HCGOP team under the leadership of Reese Boyd.

The former HCGOP team leaders have close ties to local activist Chad Caton. The group also has ties to the MYSCGOP group, under the leadership of Greenville activist Jeff Davis.

RE-ORGANIZATION RE-NEWED

Properties that must be turned over to the HCGOP include: Websites, Facebook Accounts, and physical properties including tables and chairs.

While the ruling was a legal setback for the former leaders, reorganization of the HCGOP begins again in just two months.

FIGHT WITH SCGOP CHAIRMAN DREW McKISSICK

Slagle, Caton, and Davis have run an ongoing proxy war with SCGOP Chairman Drew McKissick. Unsuccessful efforts by MYSCGOP, emanating from Greenville, championed candidate Georgia Attorney Lin Wood as a challenger to upset McKissick as Republican Party Chair.

Wood ultimately turned on Caton, Davis and the MYSCGOP team. Wood only garnered 22% of the vote. Sources report that the MYSCGOP team is well prepared for the next round of reorganizations scheduled for this Spring, however.

To the dismay of MYSCGOP leaders, McKissick has previously enjoyed the full support of former President Donald Trump.

South Carolina GOP Chairman Drew McKissick, after several rounds of voting, was also elected National GOP Co-Chair this past weekend.

FORMER LEADERS FALL OUT WITH FREEDOM CAUCUS

The MSCGOP leadership also finds itself at odds with the S.C. Freedom Caucus.

Lexington County S.C. Representative R.J. May managed the political campaign for Russell Fry’s election to the U.S. 7th Congressional District. May is a foundational leader of the S.C. Freedom Caucus.

Even though Former President Trump endorsed Fry, Caton used his influence on Social Media to discredit the candidate.

Caton’s efforts created some wedge issues between certain Freedom Caucus members and Caton. Davis, himself, is also not a fan of the Freedom Caucus.

THE BIG WINNER IN HORRY COUNTY

MBACC

National Freedom Caucus leader Mark Meadows expressed his desire to finance local campaigns on state levels in an effort to grow Freedom Caucus candidates throughout America.

With the ongoing divisiveness in the HCGOP, the only true political force in Horry County is the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. Their preferred candidates won 10 of the 12 contested primary races in Horry County in 2022. Primary races are the only races that matter in Horry County.

The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce is located in the City of Myrtle Beach. Myrtle Beach is now considered the 2nd most liberal city in S.C.

NO MONIES COMING

The MYSCGOP group is famous for running under-funded, well intended candidates in Horry County.

Candidates at the county level, city level, and state level endorsed by this group rarely win, however. This MYSCGOP group has no proven track record of showing any “get out the vote results” in previous elections. They are most famous for running 3rd tier candidates who split the vote, allowing the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce a clear path to victory.

If the vitriol and chaos were to end, the national Freedom Caucus would likely invest in local Horry County races, creating a counter balance for what is the liberal “not for profit” heavyweight in local and state elections.

It is unlikely that monies will come, however, as this former HCGOP group is intent on burning the entire brand to embers.
