Judicial Merit Selection Commission candidate Applicants
The term of office currently held by the Honorable Jan B. Bromell Holmes, Judge of the Family Court, Fifteenth Judicial Circuit, Seat 1, will expire June 30, 2025.
This seat is of high interest to Horry County residents. Senator Luke Rankin is once again Chairman of the JMSC in 2025. He worked about to bring what most believe are insignificant legal changes to the JMSC.
Bromell Holmes has 19 ballot box complaints against her. Ashton Moore, of her Georgetown/Horry County District and multiple others have gone on the record to report she is one of the most hideous judges among this scandal plagued S.C. Family Court Judicial System.
Holmes lost her bid to gain an appellate Judgeship this past year. Even Rankin did not have the stomach to cast a vote for her.
However, her appellate judgeship campaign was endorsed and championed by Murrells Inlet S.C. House Rep. Lee Hewitt.
Under mild reforms to the JMSC, and with the resistance of so many, it will be interesting to see whether Holmes can hold on to her judgeship or not.
