Ignacio Herrera is a former Marine who loves his country. Herrera served his tour of duty from January 1994 to December 2001. During his tour, American Marines supported Yugoslavia in Europe during a heated standoff.

Herrera was humbled today to find a Starbucks handing out free coffee to Veterans at the drive through near his home.

For lunch, he decided to take members of his family to Chic Fil A in nearby Lake Worth Texas.

Herrera previously pastored a church in Charleston, S.C. where he regularly celebrated his three daughters’ birthdays at the Chic Fil A in Mt. Pleasant.

Before today, Herrera was a huge “Chic Fil A” fan.

However, today was the first day that Herrera was told local firefighters and police were better people than veterans.

Mike Tipton, the owner of the Chic Fil A, made these remarks and insinuated Herrera was a “free loader” when Herrera asked if the fast food chain had any incentives for veterans on Veterans Day.

After “Chic Fil A” posted a Facebook post this morning Honoring Veterans

After ongoing pushback from customers, the post has since been removed.

Strange times when a Starbucks in Texas pays more tribute to Veterans than America’s favorite, family, fast food chain Chic Fil A.

Strange times indeed.
