Women are lucky to wear purses because they can fit everything inside and don’t have to worry about whether they forgot something or not. When they change purses, they can switch all items from the inside and still have everything with them.

Men are socially challenged when it comes to wearing purses. It’s not common for them to do it; although some versions of men’s purses are acceptable, they are not as popular as women’s purses.

Forgetting and losing items around the house is common. We use some things daily, and they don’t fit inside a purse, so some struggle with this every other day. We prepared a list of items you may be forgetting and tried to correct this wrong for you. Keep reading to see the list and learn how to never forget.

1. Keys

The number one frustration for everyone in the losing stuff genre. When this happens, you can’t get back home. You need to have an extra key hidden somewhere or wait for some of the family to come back. If you live alone, well, that’s bad news for you.

2. Wallet

Our wallets hold money, ID, driver’s license, and sometimes even credit and debit cards. Losing it means you can’t pay for anything, and if the police stop you, there’s no getting away from a ticket.

3. Smartphone

It’s 2022; there’s no chance you’re not addicted to your phone. Everything you may need is inside, a city map, your friends’ contacts, your emergency numbers, social media, a camera for selfies, and some, even their payment system. You can’t afford to lose or forget your smartphone at home.

4. Credit and debit cards

If you’re not carrying your cards in your wallet but prefer one of those slim cardholders, you’re bound to constantly lose them. Without your cards, you can’t take money from the ATM, and you can’t pay in stores for your dish, which you always find out you’re missing after the meal is finished.

5. The office ID card

We usually carry the office ID card around the neck because that’s how we’re granted access inside the premises. We typically take off the office card and place it in the pocket when we walk outside, but changing the jeans means leaving the ID at home.

6. Sunglasses

It may not be sunny at the moment, and you won’t get blinded when you walk outside the front door, but later on, it may become unbearable to walk around the city without them. Never lose your sunglasses.

7. Reading glasses

It’s the same with your reading glasses. If you left them somewhere around the house, and you’re not using them to see far away, you may forget them and leave the house without them, only to struggle at your company meeting to read what the paper says.

8. Wristwatch

A wristwatch is an accessory, and you can afford to forget it at home, but why do it? Some people feel like they forget a part of themselves if they don’t have their wristwatch under their shirt at work. It’s a significant accessory.

9. Backpack

How about this one – you get ready and leave your home without the backpack in which you have your laptop and all of your work documents. You get to work only to realize that everything you need is not with you. Bad news for your bosses and yourself.

10. Purse

Similar to the backpack is forgetting the purse at home. You may have got caught up with something else, or you thought you had it on you, only to realize it is a scarf hanging around your shoulder, thinking it’s the purse.

How to never forget anything

Most of the items on the list are small enough to fit inside your pockets. We often carry them around in our hands or inside our pockets, so we forget about them when we get inside the car or walk through the front door of our homes.

You need to have a designated place for every one of these items or use the same place for everything. You’ve probably seen those homes where items are placed inside a bowl on a table or cabinet in front of the door because this is a highly convenient solution.

Find such a place in your home and use it every time you walk inside. You can just grab whatever there is in the bowl on your way out. Even if you’re in a huge hurry, you’ll never lose or forget any of them.

Conclusion

Now you know the items that we most commonly forget and where they might be. You also learned how to handle the issue of forgetting them. The solution is simple, and you don’t have to worry too much the next time you need to leave your house.

If you have a designated place for your items that are in a visible place, you’ll never forget anything ever again. Give yourself a couple of days until you remember the new practice, and you’re set for life.
