According to a news release, officials have commenced construction on the Compass by Margaritaville Hotel, with work beginning this fall. A groundbreaking celebration is scheduled for Thursday afternoon.

The Margaritaville hotel will be located at 1717 S Ocean Blvd in North Myrtle Beach, SC. This is the former location of the Castaway Beach Inn.

The hotel will have 150 guest rooms, along with both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a fitness facility, and a bar and grill named 5 o’Clock Somewhere.

The hotel, a concept founded by renowned musician Jimmy Buffett, embodies his whimsical spirit and passion for a carefree lifestyle reminiscent of a pirate’s adventures.
