A North Myrtle Beach police report alleges that a North Carolina man, Maurice Moore, sexually assaulted an 18-year-old while she was watching the sunrise on the beach.
On May 26, Maurice Moore, 38, was charged with criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping, and possessing a weapon during a violent crime.
According to the report, police responded to the 2700 block of South Ocean Boulevard on May 26 for a possible assault. Moore approached a man’s girlfriend on the beach while the boyfriend was facetiming her. Moore pushed and kissed his girlfriend, according to the caller, as the 18 year old victim texted him to call the cops.
As she was facetiming her boyfriend on the beach, Moore approached her and began talking to her. She told police she “just got raped” while on vacation with her family.
The woman said Moore had a handgun attached to his right ankle and told her not to move before sexually assaulting her. Moore remains in jail as of this writing without a bond.
