The movie, “The Bookshop”, is based on a novel by Penelope Fitzgerald.

While it has an adorably quaint setting, a 1950s-’60s seaside town in England, the movie could well be set in 2019 Myrtle Beach.

No series of articles MyrtleBeachSC news could write, nor economic studies, nor essays taught at our local Coastal Carolina University could better explain how Myrtle Beach business-political relationships are managed in regards to owning a small business inside the city limits as a “non” insider.

The movie can currently be rented on Amazon Prime for just around $5.99. It is a must see for all who wish to understand the underpinnings of what has previously happened and continues to happen to “outside of the circle” small business owners operating within the city limits of Myrtle Beach.
