One hour before last night’s Super Bowl, a 14 year old was murdered in the 65th Avenue residential section of Myrtle Beach.

Myrtle Beach Murder in December

Myrtle Beach residents expect the occasional shootings in the downtown area.

In December, a man was murdered near the Waffle House on 1st. Avenue downtown.

Locals are more uncomfortable when the shootings happen inside of residential areas. The victim was 14-year-old Anthony Lemay, according to Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler.

This is a tragic loss of life and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim,” wrote City of Myrtle Beach officials in a press statement.
