One hour before last night’s Super Bowl, a 14 year old was murdered in the 65th Avenue residential section of Myrtle Beach.
Myrtle Beach residents expect the occasional shootings in the downtown area.
In December, a man was murdered near the Waffle House on 1st. Avenue downtown.
Locals are more uncomfortable when the shootings happen inside of residential areas. The victim was 14-year-old Anthony Lemay, according to Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler.

“This is a tragic loss of life and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim,” wrote City of Myrtle Beach officials in a press statement.

The City of Myrtle Beach was listed as among the three most dangerous cities in the state.
