Murder: Person Shot Near 3rd Ave. North In Myrtle Beach Dies

UPDATE April 28th: Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard has released the name of the murder victim. William Wallace, 25, of the Myrtle Beach area was taken to Grand Strand Hospital where he died at 12:03 p.m. Monday, April 26th.

Myrtle Beach Police Officers were sent to the 200 block of Cedar Street for a medical call this past Monday morning according to Master Cpl. Tom Vest.

When officers arrived, they found one person with gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment and later passed away, Vest added. The coroner’s office has not released the name of the victim yet.

After the call, police presence was strong in the area. The townhome complex parking lot was roped off.

Cedar Street is located near 3rd Avenue, which runs from Highway 501 to the ocean in this area.

The area has a history of high crime.
