BIKERS SAY THEY ARE COMING REGARDLESS

Unfortunately the City of Atlantic Beach will not allow Black Bike Week to happen in 2021. Here is a link to the announcement https://www.wbtw.com/news/grand-strand/atlantic-beach-bike-fest-2021-cancelled.

And as you might be aware of the City of Atlantic Beach did not allow the 2020 Black Biker Weekend to happen either.   The story in 2020 was the Bike Week dates were in May. Then due to Covid there were new dates in September.  But then the City made the decision to not allow Black Bike Week in 2020 at all.  Below is the information from on the Rally from before the cancellation.

Because of the pandemic the City of Atlantic Beach will not allow the 2020 Black Biker Week to happen.   Like always, initially the Bike Week dates were in May. Then due to Covid the new dates were in September.  But now, the City will not allow Black Bike Week [for the May 2021 rally].

COMING ANYWAY

Most of the major Black Bike Week websites encouraged the bikers to attend the Daytona Black Bike week held in March in lieu of the Myrtle Beach event.

Despite all of the above, after we posted this article Black Bike Week Officially Cancelled, we received multiple responses from enthusiasts that they were, in fact, still coming.

Demetrius Johnson from Baltimore, MD emailed us, “Hell yeah, we still coming.

Said Randall Smith of Charlotte, NC, “Just because Atlantic Beach shut down the vendors, isn’t going to stop us from coming.

HOW MANY WILL ATTEND?

Hotels are not allowed to ask reservation guests their skin color. Such is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

At the moment, no one knows exactly how many black bikers will arrive this Memorial Day Weekend.

But it is clear now, that some are planning on showing up.
