Myrtle Beach Yacht Club woman uses lighter to set man on fire

Horry County police were called to the Myrtle Beach Yacht Club at Coquina Harbor in Little River this past Friday.

According to a police report, a male victim was sprayed in the face and chest with an accelerant.

The suspect, Wendy Long, 49, of Little River, then used a lighter to ignite the accelerant, “showing extreme indifference to the value of human life and possibly causing great bodily injury or death.”

The victim was transported to the hospital with severe burns.

The suspect, Wendy Long is charged with domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature.

Mrs. Long was released today. A $20,000 bond was posted for her release.
