The NBA has had a huge number of legendary players, who have shaped the championship into what it is today. From Michael Jordan to Kobe Bryant, there are many other stars that have made their mark on the league.

Dwyane Wade is no exception, as he has seen a huge amount of career highs as a professional basketball player. From Olympic appearances to records set as a college player, this is a complete profile of NBA legend, Dwyane Wade.

Some of the superstars of the NBA are responsible for the ever-raising standard for young players. Because the standard for high achieving players is always changing, it is worth taking a closer look at the latest NBA odds in order to make accurate predictions.

Early Career

Wade was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 9th, 1978. He attended St. Rita High School where he played for the varsity basketball team. During this time, he also starred on the football team.

After graduating from high school, Wade went to Marquette University, where he played for the Golden Eagles. While playing for Marquette, he won two Big East Conference championships, three NCAA Tournament Championships and was named All-American twice.

In 2001, Wade entered the National Basketball Association draft after college. At this point, he was considered to be a top prospect, and he certainly didn’t disappoint. Wade went on to become one of the most successful NBA players of his generation.

Miami Heat

At the start of his rookie season, Wade was drafted by the Miami Heat with the fifth overall pick in the first round of the 2003 NBA Draft. He became the second-youngest player ever to play for the Heat when he debuted against the Charlotte Hornets on October 29.

He went on to win Rookie of the Year honors in 2004. The following year saw the young player come into his own, and Wade earned a slot at that season’s All-Star game.

At the end of the 2005-06 All-Star game, Wade averaged around 27.2 points, 6.9 assists, 1.95 steals, and 5.7 rebounds. Despite suffering a range of health issues during this time, Wade had a particularly impressive season in 2006, finishing against the Detroit Pistons with 10 assists and 14 points in total.

Olympics

2008 was another momentous year for Wade, who led the ‘Redeem Team’ in the Summer Olympics. As a member of the United States men’s basketball team, Wade secured national victory during his Olympic appearance.

The team took home a gold medal that year, and were widely recognized as a huge success for professional basketball and national sports.

The Big Three

In 2010, Lebron James signed with the Miami Heat. This player had a reputation of his own for his dunk skills and capacity to move fast when needed. James was actually joining Wade and Chris Bosch to make ‘The Big Three’.

Each member of the three had previously led their franchises to a great deal of success, so it was no surprise that they left an impact wherever they went when they were together. The Big Three led the Miami Heat to the NBA finals every season that they were together.

Not only that, but they won back-to-back championships in 2012 and 2013. Between 2010 when they were first assembled and the end of the 2014 season, The Big Three were a force to be reckoned with.

They were responsible for the Miami Heat remaining first in the Southeast, and definitely made history when they were together.

Awards And Records

Wade has his share of awards, and has been credited as one of the highest achieving, most consistent members of the NBA. He was named an NBA All-Star a total of thirteen times, which is a huge achievement alone.

Dwyane Wade was also an NBA champion three times during his career, and put forward to the 2004 All-Rookie team at the end of his first season as a professional basketball player. Not to mention the fact that Wade has earned two Olympic medals representing team USA. These were during his 2004 and 2008 Summer Olympic appearances.

Another quality which many have credited Wade for during his career is his dedication to the sport and loyalty to the Miami Heat. In spite of moving to other teams briefly during his career, Wade transferred back to his original team so that he could retire as a member of the Heat.

At the end of his career as a professional basketball player, Wade went on to become a philanthropist and remained a prominent figure within the sporting community. It is this that gained Wade the 2012-13 NBA Community Assist Award.
