Forestbrook residents turned out yesterday for Horry County District 8 and State District 61 to fellowship with resident focused candidates.
Shannon Grady for Horry County Council District 8 and John Cassidy for S.C. State Representative District 61 were just two of the resident focused candidates in attendance.
HORRY COUNTY RESIDENTS ARE COMING HOME
Shannon Grady and John Cassidy were joined by Horry County Council Chairman Johnny Gardner, and Ken Richardson for U.S. Congress 7th District.
Each of these candidates are being challenged by Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce candidates who work for the special interests of developers.
The rapid growth mindset of special interest candidates funded by developers has not always worked in the best interests of Horry County residents.
The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce has run Horry County politics for the past 40 years.
Perhaps this year, voters will turn out and elect resident first candidates.
The primary will be held the Tuesday, June 14th.
