North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue responded to a fire this morning at Duffy Street and 28th Avenue North. Three homes were involved. Three patients were transported with injuries.

Fire Chief Garry Spain said the call came in around 8:10 a.m. Three people went to the hospital and two homes were destroyed along with a third home 50% destroyed.

As of 9:30 a.m., Spain said the fire was under control and surrounding houses suffered from exposure damage including melted siding.

Spain added power lines were down and three people were laying in the grass when crews arrived.

The City of North Myrtle Beach is asking tourists and locals to please avoid the area of Duffy St between 24th and 29th Ave N. as crews continue to work on scene.
