In 2019, an 18-year-old was charged with attempted murder after he shot a man in the stomach during this same holiday weekend period.

In 2014, Cornelius Woods, 42, was identified as the shooter in the Fountainbleau Motel shooting that happened  over Memorial Day weekend.
