Perfume City founder, Khuram Bashir, arrived in Myrtle Beach fleeing a bounty on his head from his nation of birth. Bashir was scheduled to be put to death for preaching the Gospel. Several of his family members were later slain. He had $20 in his pocket when he came to town.

Bashir often preached at Socastee Baptist Church and discipled people into a relationship with Christ.

Bashir also had a passion for perfume, however. He initially launched a perfume kiosk at Coastal Mall, while he sought to become a naturalized American.

Today, Bashir returned to Myrtle Beach after launching 6 stores in multiple states including Allentown PA, Baltimore MD, Virginia, New Jersey and now once again in Myrtle Beach.
