Pets in North Myrtle Beach permitted anytime until May 14th

Pets in North Myrtle Beach are are permitted on the beaches without any time restrictions until May 14, 2025, as announced by the city.

Keep in mind, the Leash Law remains in effect at all times and the maximum leash length is 7 feet. Pet owners must pick up and properly dispose of any pet waste.

Also: The operation of ANY bike, E-bike or manual, on the beach is allowed (now through May 14, 2025).

And: The placement of any shading device on the beach is allowed (now through May 14, 2025).

The Pets in North Myrtle Beach law applies to all of the beaches below, including: 

  • Cherry Grove Beach: A peaceful beach in the northern part of North Myrtle Beach with a natural setting and lots of shells  
  • Waites Island: A secluded and unspoiled beach for a truly unique experience  
  • Windy Hill Beach: A more secluded beach near the Barefoot Landing shopping center  
  • Crescent Beach: A quieter beach with fewer shops and restaurants than other areas, and many older beach houses  
  • Ocean Drive Beach: A beach that offers a balance of fun and relaxation  
  • Atlantic Beach: A beach that offers serenity and seclusion
