Columbia

If the beach or the shore is not really your style, then head over to Columbia to explore the capital city of South Carolina! This sprawling, southern metropolis has much to offer starting with the huge university campus. Congaree National Park

While on the topic of greenery and Columbia, the next must-see place on this list is the Congaree National Park. The Congaree park was named after the native Congaree tribe that once lived and fished in the area.

The park offers an interesting mix of floodplain swampland and forests, making for a unique natural wonder. There are many ways to explore this national park but hiking and canoeing are the crowd favorites. The Cedar Creek Canoe Trail offers visitors a unique way to explore the area and become one with nature!
