Robert Cahaly is a renowned political consultant hailing from South Carolina, with his influence extending beyond state lines to Georgia, Louisiana, Virginia, Washington D.C., and throughout the United States.
Robert Cahaly gained national attention as the pollster affiliated with the Trafalgar Group.
Robert Cahaly’s polling has been widely recognized for accurately predicting a Trump victory in 2016. His polling operation, the Trafalgar Group, is well regarded, but Robert Cahaly has extensive operations.
His ability to leverage curious campaign donations among PACs and his own closed business operation, leaves little room for doubt about his expertise.
MyrtleBeachSC News persists in following the trail of breadcrumbs laid by Cahaly in this ongoing Our American Century investigation.
We last informed our readers about contributions S.C. Ways and Means Chairman Bruce Bannister made to Cahaly’s closed LLC. Checks were sent by several S.C. Politicians locally and state-wide to Campaign Services, a Robert Cahaly business that closed at the end of 2015.
S.C. Ways and Means Chairman Bruce Bannister’s PAC, named FLAG, funded the the South Carolina Industry Project that ran false ads against John Gallman, helping Luke Rankin retain his Horry County District 33 Senate seat.
Why would Robert Cahaly have his clients send funds to a defunct LLC?
When an LLC is formed in any state, it obtains a TIN [Tax Identification Number]. This allows the LLC to establish financial accounts at banks or other financial institutions. However, once an LLC is dissolved, the bank or financial institution is unaware of its dissolution unless the managing member informs the bank.
If payments to a dissolved LLC are deposited into a non-interest-bearing account in the name of the dissovled LLC, there will be no interest income generated, and consequently, no 1099 form will be issued.
Essentially, this enables the funds to be funneled to individuals associated with the dissolved LLC and gives the individual the ability to avoid taxation. This technique is often employed in money laundering schemes and tax evasion.
During his campaign for the South Carolina Senate seat in District 34 in 2016, Reese Boyd ran as a challenger to the incumbent candidate, Stephen Goldfinch. Horry County GOP Chairman Reese Boyd entered into an agreement with political consultant Robert Cahaly to manage his campaign.
We asked Boyd, who is a Lawyer in Horry County, if Cahaly’s invoicing of his clients and directing them to send money to a closed LLC, amounts to money laundering? Boyd responded, “If it’s not money laundering, it certainly amounts to money rinsing.”
Boyd told MyrtleBeachSC News that Cahaly introduced him to Julie Emerson during Boyd’s senate campaign run. The HCGOP Chairman said he believed, or was lead to believe, that Emerson worked for Cahaly at that time. Today, Rep. Julie Emerson is the Louisiana House Ways and Means Chairman. She manages a $49.6 billion dollar annual Louisiana State Budget. Emerson also still owns Lagniappe Communications.
Lagniappe Communication receives ongoing referrals for the majority of clients who hire Robert Cahaly. Emerson has purchased ongoing ad buys for a myriad of candidates and PACs associated with Cahaly. She is being sued for an ad buy she purchased for the South Carolina Industry Project “Again funded by Bannister’s Flag PAC”, in the District 33 Senate race helping Luke Rankin retain his seat.
After further research into S.C. campaign disclosures, our news agency discovered S.C. Representative Melisa Oremus had also contributed campaign funds to the dissolved corporation Campaign Services, LLC.
Our readers will recall this dissolved LLC was registered to Robert Cahaly in the State of Georgia.
Robert Cahaly was and continues to be Melissa Oremus’ political consultant. He invoiced her $35,276.27 for payments to Campaign Services, a closed LLC.
Rep. Oremus sends $35,276.27 to Robert Cahaly closed company

We contacted Mrs. Oremus because we consider her to be a highly reputable Representative from South Carolina.
Representative Oremus expressed her complete unawareness regarding the closure of the LLC. According to her, the invoices containing a mailing address from Campaign Services were sent to her by Robert Cahaly. Oremus asserted, “I always pay my bills.“
She asserted with conviction that she precisely carried out the instructions given to her by her campaign advisor, Robert Cahaly. He invoiced her and requested she send the funds to the dissolved LLC without her knowing the company had closed.
After being told about Robert Cahaly utilizing business addresses in 5 different cities, with 12 different addresses, across 2 different states for his dissolved corporation Campaign Services, Mrs. Oremus gave the following response, “Is it possible that somebody else has a business with the same name? Every state could have a business with the same name, registered and not have the same owner. As a business owner myself, I’ve only had that happen one other time. But that is a very common name.“
After Mrs. Oremus expressed doubts about the potential existence of Campaign Services in a different state, we conducted a thorough research. Our investigation revealed that S.C. Campaign Finance reports contained 12 distinct addresses located in 5 cities across 2 states for the same Campaign Services. These public reports were obtained from S.C. politicians who had previously collaborated with Robert Cahaly.
More to come on this later.
Representative Oremus asked us to reach out to Robert Cahaly directly. We did so that same day by text. Despite our efforts, Cahaly has not replied to us within the last week.

Cahaly possesses extensive connections and strong affiliations that grant him significant influence over Bruce Bannister, the overseeing authority of the complete $41 billion annual budget of S.C. Additionally, his close ties provide him with direct access to Louisiana Representative Julie Emerson, who manages the sizable annual budget of $49 billion for the state of Louisiana.
Representative Jay West also followed Cahaly without question. West did not know the firm he sent funds to:

Representative Jay West
Robert Cahaly was employed as a political consultant in the campaign of Jay West, the representative for District 7 in South Carolina. West was unsuccessful in winning his campaign primary last June.
Representative West was billed $31,500.00 by Cahaly through an entity named Invictus Strategies. Upon contacting Representative West, he expressed unfamiliarity with Invictus Strategies, stating that he received an invoice from Cahaly and issued a check. Further information regarding Invictus will be coming soon.
Key Questions:
- Is it appropriate for state representatives to possess and oversee Political Action Committees?
- Is it appropriate for State Representatives to engage in the Political Consulting industry?
The current system is fraught with conflicts that can only foster corruption.
In our upcoming article series, we will feature a Pastor from South Carolina who campaigned for a seat in the U.S. Congress. We will also explore the origins of OUR AMERICAN CENTURY, which was originally called the Geaux Pac.
MyrtleBeachSC News aims to reveal connections among the Pastor, the Geaux Pac [Our American Century] founder, Julie Emerson, and an intriguing loan from a Missouri Bank.

Campaign Services, LLC in Texas, incorporated in 2018 after Cahaly’s closed in 2015

We reached out to Political Consultant Patrick McDonald asking him if he ever worked with Robert Cahaly. Said McDonald, “Robert Cahaly isn’t my client. His corporation closed before we ever opened. As I represent both Republicans and Democrats, Cahaly is not someone I would work with.“
