Columbia, S.C. (July 29, 2025) – The South Carolina Department of Transportation has closed the entrance to Mall Drive in Horry County for roadway repairs following a water line rupture.

Crews are actively working to repair the Mall Drive roadway and reopen the road. Repairs are being expedited and are anticipated to last until tomorrow.

A sinkhole on the road caused a local driver’s car to fall in.

A map of the affected area can be found below. SCDOT asks that drivers seek alternate routes around Mall Drive as you visit the Coastal Grande Mall.
