The executive search committee, formed by the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (MBACC) and Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), is responsible for overseeing the appointment of the next president and CEO of the Myrtle Beach Chamber.
Mike Hagg, who spent close to thirty years at HTC in different capacities, including a twelve-year tenure as CEO until his retirement in 2022, now heads the ten-member committee.

“The role of the president and CEO of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureau is pivotal in driving the region’s economic development, tourism initiatives and overall community growth. We are committed to finding a leader who not only brings a strategic vision but also, a deep understanding of the unique needs of the Grand Strand business community,” Hagg said.
Hagg has formed a panel comprised of community influencers and industry experts from various areas in the region. The individuals serving on the committee responsible for conducting the executive search are:

- Johnny Gardner, Chairman, Horry County Council
- Dr. Michael Benson, President, Coastal Carolina University
- Clay Brittain, Chairman of the Board, Brittain Resorts & Hotels
- Terrance Herriott, Vice President, Conway National Bank
- Matt Klugman, Chief Operating Officer, Vacation Myrtle Beach
- Steve Mays, President, Founders Group International
- Bhumi Patel, Partner, Burr & Forman
- Robert Stinnett, Regional Manager, WonderWorks
Dr. Michael Benson, Matt Klugman, and Bhumi Patel who serve on the search committee also presently serve as members of the MBACC board.
