Video pulled from SCETV archives of the S.C. General Assembly highlight District 33 Senator Luke Rankin stating “our team is responsible for losing the $9 billion in the VC Summer nuclear fiasco.

An August 2019 article written by the State Newspaper goes on to add:

Santee Cooper an accomplice, not a victim in VC Summer nuclear fiasco, lawsuit alleges

Rankin can be heard on the video below saying, “It was our decision.”

The John Gallman camp researched and released the above video earlier this week.

The timing of this release could not be worse for Rankin.

With just days left before Tuesday’s election, mail boxes are being filled by groups that include TheRealRankin.com, as well as, local residents sharing numerous social memes online.

Memes like the above and below have been shared by Horry County residents tens of thousands of times.

Our own unofficial polling reveals Rankin garners high negatives. Thirty two percent of voters say they will not vote for Luke Rankin.

Collusive Voters

Rankin has a high number of what MyrtleBeachSC News calls collusive voters. These voters are the base for incumbents like Rankin.

Collusive voters can be counted on because they have a government financial relationship or a contractual government relationship. As the size of government in S.C. continues to grow, this voter base continues to grow.

Numbers show that Rankin can expect a minimum of 4,500 collusive voters.

Should a run off between Rankin and John Gallman occur, Rankin can count on 100% of those same voters showing up again.

Rankin has a ceiling, however. If Tuesday is a high turnout day, a Gallman win or a run off is likely.

Should there be a run off, Gallman will need to get voters back out to the polls on June 23rd.

Rankin’s 4,500 collusive voters are sure to show up both times.

A third tier candidate is also running, but projected to get no more than 10% of the vote.

Turn out will be the key during this election cycle.
