Two People Killed In Myrtle Beach Neighborhood

A host of police cars and ambulances were on the scene near the professional office district around 44th Avenue this evening.

Myrtle Beach police responded to reports of shots fired Thursday, June 11th around 8:15 p.m. on Willoughby Lane, according to Master Cpl. Thomas Vest.

Vest said when officers arrived, they found two people with critical injuries.

Those two people died as a result of their injuries. Ja’Leel Stephens, 19, and 21-year-old Kanon Cook Melvin died at the scene, according to Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard. Both were from Fayetteville.

Police have released no information on any possible suspects.
