Carolina Forest, SC — Slim Chickens, a leader in the “better chicken” segment of fast-casual restaurants, will continue expansion of its 100% fresh chicken and unrivaled flavor in South Carolina, with its newest opening at 135 Sapwood Dr, Myrtle Beach, SC 29579 on September 23rd.

With more than 50 years of combined restaurant experience, Larry Chandler and his nephew Jody Chandler are embarking on a new adventure and opening their third Slim Chickens location in Carolina Forest. Born and raised in the eastern part of South Carolina, they decided to expand their portfolio with Slim Chickens after experiencing the delicious food and southern hospitality firsthand, which is exactly what they strive for at their restaurants.

Larry has a humble respect for local business owners in Myrtle Beach, but he believes Slim Chickens will easily stand out in the restaurant scene and is very excited to bring the concept to the local area.

“This is our third Slim Chickens location and we’ve really watched people fall in love with it,” said Larry. “We have different offerings than our competitors, like chicken and waffles, 14 different sauces, and crafted desserts. We’re different, and that’s what the community is going to find.”

Aside from bringing its famous, delicious fried chicken and Southern-inspired sides to the area, the new Slim Chickens location in Myrtle Beach will also make a positive economic impact with over 75 new jobs anticipated for creation in the community

Slim Chickens

The Myrtle Beach opening is one piece in Slim Chickens’ larger growth story. Since its founding in 2003, the brand has celebrated over 250 locations opened and a fanatical following in 34 U.S. states, as well as international locations in the United Kingdom, with an overall goal of opening 600 restaurants within the next decade. In South Carolina alone, the brand has already grown to seven locations.

Our freshly made southern dishes and homemade recipes create loyal guests who feel good about the food they’re eating and we’re proud to be able to grow our loyal fan base into the Myrtle Beach market,” said Slim Chickens Chief Operating Officer Sam Rothschild.

By focusing on providing only 100% fresh chicken tenders that are buttermilk-marinated, hand-breaded and always cooked fresh-to-order, the brand has committed to providing a “better chicken” experience that can’t be found anywhere else. In addition, a choice of 14 housemade sauces adds exceptional flavor and has earned admiration from both guests and critics alike. Slim Chickens also offers fresh sandwiches, salads, wraps and its signature chicken and waffles. To offset the savory side of the menu, rotating desserts served in Mason jars are also available.
